Purpose:

 The purpose of this research is to find a natural way to reduce inflammation. This will provide an alternative to the anti-inflammatory drugs that come with  potentially dangerous side effects

Hypothesis: 

If the effectiveness of the anti-inflammatory properties of to betalains (beatnik and vulgaxanthin) are tested, the results should be similar to those of the commercial drug, ibuprofen. This hypothesis should be proved correct in the results because both the betalains and ibuprofen have been shown to reduce cell growth in the same way; they both inhibit the enzyme that produces prostaglandins, cyclooxyrgenase (COX enzyme)
